Revenues of Peru-based Cementos Pacasmayo SA declined 8.6 per cent YoY to PEN480m (US$131.4m) in the first quarter of 2023. Cement sales in Argentina fell by one per cent to 1,028,656t in April 2023 from 1,039,320t in April 2022, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. Andrés Segú Undurraga has resigned from his position as director of Cemento Polpaico SA, Chile. His respective alternative director, José Tomás Edwards Alcalde, also resigned on 21 April. The company’s Board of Directors agreed to appoint Alejandro Gevert Detto as Mr Segú’ replacement, who will serve in this position until the next ordinary shareholders’ meeting when the Board of Director must be completely renewed.

Brazil’s cement market contracted by two per cent to 5.398Mt in March 2023 from 5.507Mt in March 2022, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC.
