Holcim - June 2014

Huaxin Cement, which is 41.9 per cent controlled by Holcim, has acquired a 40 per cent stake in the Cambodian cement producer Cement Chakrey Ting for US$24m.

Cement Chakrey Ting's cement plant was completed last year with technical assistance from Huaxin Cement, becoming the third cement producer in Cambodia.

Holcim US is planning to invest US$100m in modernising and increasing capacity at its Ada cement works in Oklahoma, USA. Work is to start in the final quarter of this year and, when completed, should increase the plant's capacity by approximately 20 per cent.
