Cementir announced historical group revenues in 2022 from sales and services totalling EUR1720.9m, up 26.5 per cent on EUR360m in 2021. Argentina’s Loma Negra has reported a two per cent YoY increase in revenue in the 4Q22 to ARS36,763m (US$215m), mainly driven by a strong performance in the concrete and aggregates segments, which helped offset a fall in cement sales. Adjusted EBITDA came in at ARS13,173m, up 5.4 per cent YoY in adjusted pesos, or up 42.7 per cent in dollars at US$91m. BUA Cement's revenue increased by 40% in 2022

Dugongo Cimentos announces new plant

Dugongo Cimentos is building a new 6000tpd cement plant in Nacala-Porto, Nampula province, on the northern cost of Mozambique. The project is believed to cost US$192m, according to Macao News. The company currently runs a 2Mta integrated plant in Maputo province. The construction sector in Mozambique was estimated to be worth US$724.6m in 2021 with average annual growth of over four per cent forecast in 2023-26.   

South Valley Cement reports decline in net losses in 2022

Egypt’s South Valley Cement has reported sales in 2022 of EGP873.73m (US$28.3m), up from EGP284.62m in the previous year, according to Zawya. Over the same period, the company saw a net loss of EGP208.74m, compared to a loss of EGP225.45m in 2021, giving a loss per share of EGP0.43 as of 31 December 2022, versus EGP0.47 at the same time a year earlier.
