Cementos Lima SA posted first quarter net income of 41.1 million soles ($12.9 million) compared with PEN33.7 million in the same quarter in the previous year, the company said Thursday.     Total revenues rose to PEN189.6 million in the first quarter compared with PEN185.7 million in the same period a year earlier.     Cementos Lima is the largest cement producer in Peru.

Cemex posted a 21 per cent fall in first-quarter profit when compared with the year ago period which included a large one-time gain. Net profit for Cemex was US$400m in the January-March period and in line with expectations. The Lucky Cement Limited has earned Rs 553.703 million translating an earning per share of Rs 2.10 in the third quarter ended March 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 495.050 profit after-tax and EPS Rs 1.88 in the same period last year. The Ras Al Khaimah Company for White Cement and Construction Materials announced yesterday a Dh34.5 million net profit for the first quarter of the year, a 221 per cent increase over the corresponding period of the previous year. India’s third largest cement maker, Gujarat Ambuja Cements posted a 6.6 pct rise in first quarter net profit and said its managing director has resigned and will be replaced by AL Kapur. Cements Ltd. posted a net profit of 1.4 billion rupees in January-March compared to 270.3 million rupees a year ago, riding on high volumes and cost efficiency, a senior official said on Friday.      The total income during the period increased to 5.78 billion rupees against 4.24 billion rupees a year ago.     "We’ve had excellent cost control and blending has also increased which also helps reduce costs," Managing Director N.
