The Syrian Co for the Manufacture of Cement and Building Materials (Hama Cement) has reported 1.06Mt of cement production for 2020. Stocks of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose 9.8 per cent after the company announced it will be entering the aggregate business. Caribbean Cement Company (TCL/Cemex group) says it reached a new record in 2020 by manufacturing more than 940,000t of cement in response to market demand in Jamaica.  "The market responded opposite to what might have been expected given the pandemic. Asia Cement Corp reports 3% increase in December revenue

Taiwan’s Asia Cement Corp has reported a 2.5 per cent YoY increase in revenue to TWD8.32bn (US$297.2m) for December 2020, compared with TWD8.12bn in the year-ago period. In the full-year 2020, revenue declined 12.4 per cent YoY to TWD78.24bn from TWD89.34bn.

Cemex announces pricing of US$1.75bn senior secured notes

Cemex SAB de CV announced the price of US$1.75bn of its 3.875 per cent senior secured notes due in 2031 and denominated in US dollars. The notes have a semi-annual interest rate of 3.875 per cent and mature on 11 July 2031. The notes are to be issued on 12 January 2021, subject to customary closing conditions. Cemex intends to use the proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes.

Shiva Cement receives approval for 1.32Mta project

India’s Shiva Cement (JSW Cement) has now received approval from the state government of Odisha to add 1.32Mta of clinker capacity and 1.05Mta of cement production capacity in the form of a new facility in the Sundargarh district. The project, worth INR15.23bn (US$207.88m), received clearance during a High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting on Wednesday.

NCL Industries sees 50% rise in production

India’s NCL Industries has announced a 49.5 per cent YoY increase in cement production to 632,746t in the third quarter of the FY20-21, rising from 423,199t in the year-ago period. Cement dispatches also climbed 45.1 per cent YoY to 625,162t from 430,861t in the 3QFY19-20.

LafargeHolcim appoints new Romanian CEO and country head for Moldova

LafargeHolcim has announced the appointment of Bogdan Dobre as its new CEO for Romania and country head for Moldova effective from 1 January   2021.
