Hsing Ta Cement reports 24% revenue rise in 2017

Taiwan-based Hsing Ta Cement has reported a 13.1 per cent rise in December revenues to TWD581.701m (US$19.64m) from TWD514.449m, according to the Taiwan Stock Exchange. For the full year, revenues increased 23.7 per cent from TWD4.346bn in 2016 to TWD5.376bn in 2017.

GICA announces production record for 2017

Algeria’s Groupe Industriel des Ciments d’Algérie (GICA) announced a production record of 13,950,660t in 2017. This reflects an 11 per cent rise in output when compared with 12,604,0045t reported in 2016. Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd (LSCL) has completed the required documents to transfer the shares of Holcim Bangladesh Ltd (HBL) to LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Ltd. The step was part of the acquisition of HBL at a price set by the Bangladesh Bank, which announced a price of BDT5.05bn (US$60.8m) on 24 December 2017.

Sagar Cement (SCL) saw a 65 per cent rise in sales in December 2017 as the India-based company reported sales of 254,348Mt, compared with the year-ago period.
