To capitalise on the expanding regional markets of Kaliningrad, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk, HeidelbergCement has expanded its operations in the area via three import terminals. Through these key investments, the group imports cement from its Swedish and Norwegian production units which puts it in a prime position to increase its local sales and capture a greater share of the market. Irina Efimova and Anna Borisova of HeidelbergCement Russia take us through the expansion projects.
HeidelbergCement has three cement terminals in Russia, located in the North-West Federal District. KaliningradCement LLC operates a terminal with a cement capacity of around 200,000tpa. Norcem Kola LLC currently operates two terminals in Murmansk and Arkhangelsk with cement import capacities of around 80,000tpa and 30,000tpa, respectively.
