In the west of the Democratic Republic of Congo, considerable change is afoot as the local Rawji Group enters a joint-venture with Lucky Cement of Pakistan to build a 1.3Mta cement works, Nyumba Ya Akiba sarl. Groundbreaking for the extraction of limestone, DR Congo

Home to over 77m people, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is the fourth most populous country in Africa. In terms of area, DRC is the second-largest country in Africa and the 11th-largest in the world. With such a vast area, the country is also bestowed with immense natural resources including copper, cobalt, gold, diamonds, coltan, zinc, tin, tungsten, making DRC an ideal location for mining, mineral processing as well as the manufacturing of metal products, timber and cement.
