Dr Clark is inspired to consider alternative fuel project assessment and methodology following the paper presented by Brian McGrath of ResourceCo at the Cemtech Asia 2014 conference in June. After providing a background to the place of alternative fuels in terms of world energy consumption, Mr McGrath adopted a risk-based approach to assess the potential success of such projects.

As reported last month, the Cemtech Asia conference in Kuala Lumpur featured some superb presentations, with one of the best provided by Brian McGrath of ResourceCo, who subsequently published a paper in the August 2014 issue of ICR on maximising tyre-derived fuel (TDF) usage. His expertise in the field originates from his years as technical manager of Boral’s Waurn Ponds cement plant in Australia.
