Recent years have seen growth in the take-up of benchmarking services provided by Whitehopleman. Some cement plants have participated every year since the service was launched 19 years ago. UK-based Whitehopleman has recently been retained to undertake country-wide cement factory performance benchmarking on behalf of cement industry associations. Moreover, some cement companies have retained Whitehopleman to conduct company-wide benchmarking. Therefore, now seems a good time to review what has changed and the lessons learnt from cement factory benchmarking.
