Yamama Cement, one of the oldest and largest cement companies in Saudi Arabia, is relocating its manufacturing facilities. Its production site is currently in Riyadh, but soon a new plant complex will go into operation 80km east of the capital. Its two production lines will have a total capacity of 6.6Mta of clinker and 7Mta of cement. Its dimensions alone make the project something special: some 68,000t of deliveries, 43,500t of structural steel and 305,000m³ of concrete are part of the project’s requirements. The perimeter fence is 12km long, not including the limestone quarry. The construction project is currently the biggest in Saudi Arabia.
