A programme of investments in equipment, health and safety, material management and logistics has enabled Lucky Cement’s Karachi plant to increase overall production capacity and efficiency, reduce power consumption, improve its use of alternative fuels to reduce coal consumption and control carbon emissions, all while recording zero injuries or fatalities. Highlights include construction of a new 1.3Mta kiln line in just 386 days. In 2019, completion of 2m safe man-hours were recorded at Karachi plant for the very first time. In this process no recordable injury, lost time injury or fatality of any employee was reported.
