Cemtech Live Webinar: Producing low carbon cements
Date: Wednesday, 1 February 2023
Time: 14:00 GMT (London, UK)
Venue: Virtual event

In this webinar, we will explore levers for low carbon cement production. While on the one hand process optimisation is essential for reducing the energy consumption during the production of clinker, further significant carbon savings can be achieved through clinker substitution and the use of a wide range of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). These can include traditional substitutes such as slag and fly ash, but also less common acidic slags, natural pozzolans, limestone and calcined clays.
Speakers include:
'Successful decarbonisation through SCMs – lessons from Brazil', Dr Silvia Vieira, Votorantim Cimentos (Brazil)
'Process optimisation technologies – 5.9Mt CO2 emissions saved by 2023', Dirk Schmidt, Kima Process Control (Germany)
'Cement rheology improvers enabling low CO2 cement based on calcined clays', Alejandro Velez,
Sika Servies AG (Switzerland)
'Cement Decarbonisation: We have a solution', Conor O'Riain, Ecocem (Ireland)
