China National Building Materials (CNBM) - June 2018

China National Building Materials (CNBM) has acquired an additional 18.7 per cent equity interest in Southwest Cement Co, boosting its stake from 70 to 88.7 per cent. The extra share was purchased from Zhonghai Trust Co Ltd for CNY1918m (US$295.1m).

The deal is expected to strengthen CNBM’s bottom line and quality asset management, as well as improving its return on investment as the southwestern China market continues to grow on the back of supply-side structural reforms.
