Semen Indonesia - August 2018

Semen Indonesia is one of the parties reported to be interested in acquiring LafargeHolcim’s Indonesian unit. LafargeHolcim is apparently seeking around US$2bn for the unit but with overcapacity and falling cement prices plaguing the Indonesian cement market, it remains to be seen if any of the suitors come forward with bids. Other interested parties include Indocement, Taiheiyo Cement Corp, Malaysia’s YTL Corp and Indonesian billionaire Anthoni Salim’s conglomerate Salim Group.
