For getting better pre-blending efficiency you should design the pile quantity of at least 5- 7 days of your kiln requirement.Circular stacker-reclaimer is used where space constraints are present.With longitudinal bridge type reclaimer you may increase pile quantity according to enhanced need of kiln feed material.Increase in number of layer will also increase pre-blending efficiency.

Hi Raj,

 Yes, I agree with you except that in the case of a linear stockpile, if you increase the number of layers past the point where the thickness of each layer is less than the upper particle size you can actually increase segregation at the end-cones.
