Hi Davo,

The ASR has to do with soluble alkalis, so that even with respect to clinker, only the soluble alkali portion of the total alkalis will enter into the Alkali Silica Reaction.

It will depend on how much of the total alkali content of the Pozzolans is water soluble.

(This is also true of the effect of alkalis on early strength.)

Thank you for your answer. You've confirmed my point of view, so I've already sent samples of the pozzolans  for mineralogical analysis.
