Kilnhood temperature

Hi, could someone please help me with the following questions

1. Can I used kilnhood temperature as an indication of the temperaure of the burning zone?

2. IF yes, what is the minimum temperature of the kilnhood to ensure clinkerisation at the burning zone is ensured ?

3. Is the application of a pyrometer for the burning zone helpful ?

1.Kiln hood temperature can be considered as a secondary air temperature but it can not be considered as burning zone temperature.

3.Infrared pyrometer can be used for burning zone temperature indication.It will also be better to install burning zone camera for visual monitoring of burning zone codition by CCR staff.

No, you cannot use the hood temperature as a reliable indicator of burning zone temperature. It will primarily indicate the secondary air temperature. You could make inferences as to the burning zone temperature, but only with care. There is likely to be a minimum hood temperature for full combination but this would only be a coarse indication. A pyrometer, the kiln inlet NOx or the torque of the kiln drive motor are better indicators of burning zone temperature.
