CHANGE OF FUEL FROM COAL TO LNG

WHAT ARE THE FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED DURING SWITCH OVER FROM COAL/PETCOKE FUEL TO NATURAL GAS FIRING IN CEMENT KILN

WE HAVE A UNIFLOW BURNER WITH UNAX COOLER 4 STAGE SP KILN &

SLC KILN WITH GRATE COOLER BUT WITH UNIFLOW BURNER.

WHETHER IT IS COST EFFECTIVE OR NOT?

WHAT SHOULD BE THE SUPPLY PRESSURE FOR NG FIRING INTO THE KILN?

DO WE HAVE TO USE A BUFFER STORAGE FOR FIRING?

IS THERE ANY HAZARD OF BACK PRESSURE ETC.?

These are not really questions that can be answered through the tech forum.

You must have a properly designed system with the appropriate safety
provision. Whether it will be cost effective depends entirely on the
relative costs of gas and coal/petcoke. There is no buffer storage when
firing natural gas. The gas is delivered directly to the kiln through
pipelines. There are certainly hazards, which is why a properly designed
system must be installed. The costs of doing that are part of the evaluation
of whether the switch is cost effective or not.
