Re: Snowman On the kiln burner

Dear Mr. Azher

To remove Rhino horn Or snow man effect you have to find the best burner position , Test had shown that the burner position in the kiln hood is of decisive significance on the combustion process , the superimposition of primary and secondary air on the fuel determinate substantially combustion initiation at the burner tip ,

When you operate in extremely short flame and very concentrate heat transfer , the process material will reach high Temp. it then you have to move the burner IN further into kiln ,this will allow to use secondary air in the last section of the kiln for material cooling and with that way you can prevent snow man or Rhino horn  or build up

Re: Snowman On the kiln burner

Hello ILA

before my kiln burner position was the 700mm from the nose ring i faced rhino horn now position is 400mm but i have same problem,

if you are suggesting burner should be inside with maximum pressure of flame air(both swirl and jet ) so what will you suggest the position to avoid the rhino-horn

for your information nose ring castable  width is about 800mm
