Re: flame length and kiln shell temp

What type of bricks do you have at the 45m mark of your kiln? Is it burning zone brick or upper transition zone brick. If it is not burning zone brick, then it may very well be in your "securuity zone". If it is indeed your "security zone" then it would be alumina brick. These bricks do not build coating. I hate to be the one to tell you this........but start planning for a kiln stop.

If the brick is burning zone brick then you may stand some chance in warding off a kiln stop.

To better appreciate your predicament.....How hot is the shell at the 45m mark? What type of brick is there?

Dear,

I'm still not convinced with your data of kiln inlet pressure, the preheater outlet pressure is -60milibar this pressure is ok. The kiln inlet pressure shall be -200 to -250Pa (i.e -2 to -2.5 mbar) for offline calciner and kiln hood vary between -0.2mbar to -0.5mbar for different design of hoods. Very high draft (-7milibar) at kiln inelt to my knowldge is very strange.
