carbondioxide % calculation in preheater exit gases

DEAR ALL

WE GOT AN PORTABLE ANALYSER WHICH HAS GOT IR SENSOR FOR ONLINE MEASUREMENT OF CO2 WITH RANGE UPTO 40%.

NOW AS PER CALCULATION I AM GETTING 27-28% CO2 IN EXIT GASES WHILE THE ANALYSER SHOWS AROUND 40% CO2.

CAN ANYBODY EXPLAIN ME THE REASON . THE SENSOR OF CO2 IS NEW & CORRECT.

ALSO THE BOOKS SAYS CO2 IN EXIT GASES IS 26-28% .

WHICH IS CORRECT & WHY?

PLEASE DO REPLY

Have you checked the calibration of the analyser? (It appears to be running almost at the extreme of its scale.) Also, is your calculation expressed upon a moist gas basis or dry gas (subtracting the volume of water vapour that is present) and is the sample gas stream to the analyser losing moisture by condensation or by deliberate drying?

Dear sir,

Here i attached  Exell sheet regarding PH Exit gas density calculation by using gas analyser and it may usefull for you.

PH exit gas analysis:

S.N.  Mesured Value        Volume          Mol. wt.        %wt.         Density(kg/m3)

1          CO2                      8.2%               44              1.96%           0.16

2          O2                        3.7%               32               1.43%           0.053

3          N2(balance)           88.1                 28              1.25%            1.101

                                                                                   Total=          1.315 kg/m3
