Kiln migration
Dear friends
In our plant Kiln tyre migrations are at higher side. Tyre-1 (Outlet end) has migration of 30-32 mm, Tyre-2 (middle) has 24-26mm and Tyre-3 (inlet end) has 20-22mm. Please suggest what is the maximum permisible tyre migrations for any kiln. Our kiln size is Dia.4.15 x 64 mtr lg. designed for 4200 TPD operating at 4300 TPD. What could be the unwanted effects of too much higher migration. Also what happens if migrations are too less. How can we adjust migration values, if they are too low or too high??
Please suugest..........

re Kiln migration
Dear BPK
Generally Migration tell us about available gap in between kiln tyre and kiln shell.
measuring unit in mm, which calculate by the RPM legging between Tyre and kiln shell.
higher value and lower value both are dengerous for the kiln lining and kiln shell as well.
higher value (> 12 to 15mm) indicate due to low kiln shell temp. kiln contrection and gap between shell and tyre get increase, this is mainly because kiln coating condition. Similary Low value (< 4 to 5 mm) show due to high kiln shell temp. expansion in kiln shell which is minimise the gap between tyre and shell, due to this agin chances for kiln lining falling and parmanent deformation in kiln shell.
hope this help

Kiln migration
Dear friends
In our plant Kiln tyre migrations are at higher side. Tyre-1 (Outlet end) has migration of 21to 22 mm, Tyre-2 (middle) has 24-26mm and Tyre-3 (inlet end) has 27-28mm. Please suggest what is the maximum permisible tyre migrations for any kiln. Our kiln size is Dia.4.8 x 74 mtr lg. designed for 5000 T PD operating at 5600 TPD. What could be the unwanted effects of too much higher migration. How can calculated new shims reduced minimum migraction 8 to 12 mm.
Please suugest.and give me details.........
