kiln bag house dust quality check?
dear expert
in terms of good quality control can you please give your opinion which option is more accurate and why.
1.) Option-1 After raw meal we have autosampler for sample collection. And kiln bag house dust mix with raw meal after this autosampler and directly go to silo. And finally only basis of raw meal quality we take corrections.(means bag house dust not part of the raw meal sample)
2.) Option-2 After raw meal we have autosampler for sample collection and kiln bag house dust mix with raw meal and than raw meal sample get collected and test accordingly correction has taken.(means bag house dust part of the raw meal sample)
please comment which option is standard and why
thanks

re kiln bag house dust quality check?
Hello Raju,
Each of the two options has a disadvantage, however Option one is the best of the two options shown.
If added to the raw meal, kiln dust makes it very hard to determine if quality fluctuations in the raw meal sample are due to poor raw mill quality control or kiln dust variations.
However if the kiln dust is added to the silo, under certain conditions it can cause undesired fluctuations in the kiln feed chemistry. It is therefore better to add the dust directly to the mixing bin beneath the silo so that it bypasses the silo, as yndiaye has already suggested.
As a matter of interest, what do you do with the conditioning tower dust? Or is the kiln baghouse dust a combination of raw mill baghouse + conditioning tower dust?
Regards,
Ted.
