My kiln Feed HM SM IM and LSF is 2.19 , 2.37 1.45 and 97.1 and in clinker Im getting 2.12, 2.46 1.47 and 93.5 %. Coal ash % is 18.1 %. On a different day the coal ash was 18.6% and kiln feed and clnker ratio was as follows.K.feed 2.26, 2.30 1.43 and 101%.and in clinker it was 2.13, 2.48 1.44 and LSF 94.2% , Why this big difference in feed and clinker chemistry even though there is increse in the kin feed lime. Is it normal or something missing here. For a coal ash of 21.2% the kiln feed HM SM IM and LSF was 2.27,2.29, 1.45 and 101.1% and in clinker its 2.09,2.46,1.48 and 92.8% respectively. Why there is such a big change between kiln feed and clinker chemistry. Is it only because of Coal ash or something else. Pl someone explain it.
Thanks,
Mohan.M

Hello Mohan,
I strongly suspect that the difference is due to the dust which recycles external to the kiln, between the top of the preheater and the kiln feed.

Ted.

Thank you Mr Ted . Can you give more details about external circulation. we are running WHR system and is this due to this the difference and if so why .

I further wish to add the following. From the top of preheater outlet we have a diversion duct for the hot gas duct to go to the whr from where hot gas is used for the WHR. The dust is collected at the bottom hopper from where it will go back to the Raw meal silo where its mixed with the fresh meal from the raw mill as well as the Kil n Bag filter dust .The outlet gas of whr will also go for the verticle Raw mill. We have the main duct from the prehtr outlet which the prehtr fan will suck also from whr and send to the mill or direct to the Bag house as per the mill running condition.I hope I explained well.
