Stack emission.
Sir,
We checked Kiln stack gas emission and got the following results.
Kiln no 1 So2 : 0.52 mg/m3. Kiln no 2 S02 : 63.32mg/m3
Nox :251.98 mg/m3 Nox :401.8 mg/m3
Co : 510.58mg/m3. Co : 66.67mg/m3
O2 : 12.29 % 02 : 9.78%
Co2 : 14.26 % C02 : 20.88%
For Kiln 1, So2 and Nox seems to be within the Target . But Co is too high. Why this change when the other two are in favorable conditions.
For Kiln 2 Nox seems to be on the higher side. Pl explain the reason for this.

Hi,
What are the make and model and type of the two kilns? NOx can vary based on type of burner, multistage combustion in calciner, if you have reducing condition in the kiln or not, and other factors. SO2 depends on fuel type, raw material sulfur, and if you have reducing condition in the kiln or not. It seems you have reducing condition in K2 because you have more CO and less O2. Your SO2 from K1 is extremely low!!!!!!!
Also these numbers are from kiln exit or stack exit? They can be much difference in these two.

Sir,
Both are Stack emission results. Kiln 1 is 4000 t UBE japan Plant with multichanel Pillard burners with Coal as the main fuel and Gas or Oil also fired in case of problems with Coal mill . Its ILC 4 stage preheater with coal as main fuel in preheater as well.
Kiln 2 is 8000 t polysius kiln with polysius multichanel burners and 5 stage ILC preheater.
We keep sufficiently safe o2 % at kiln inlet. about 4.0 %

Hi,
You have 100% coal and your SO2 is this low? Almost impossible!
Kiln inlet O2 should be 2%, ID fan inlet 4%, and in dust separator should be 10%.
Can say anything about NOx as its can vary except K2 should be lower given it has less O2 and is 5 stage not 4.
