Demand for cement in Spain has risen 10.1 per cent YoY in October, according to the country’s cement association, Oficemen. In the past year, from November 2017 to October 2018, cement demand reached 13.3Mt in Spain – up 1.2Mt when compared with the previous year period. Exports fell by 11.9 per cent in September. Data for October are yet undisclosed.

Cement sales on the Canary islands decreased 2.4 per cent in November, when compared with November 2017. Sales reached 52,221t, according to the Canary Statistics Institute. Cement sales fell on the main two islands – by 15.8 per cent to 17,602t on Gran Canaria and by 0.7 per cent to 21,969t on Tenerife. Other islands reported a rise.
