The price of a bag of 50kg cement in Kinshasha, the capital city of the DR of Congo, has experienced a significant decline for nearly a month. A bag of 50kg of grey cement, which sold for CDF18,000 in May 2011, sells for between CDF11,000 and 12,000, a decrease of CDF7000. This significant decrease is due to the authorisation by the government through the Ministry of National Economy, of grey cement imports from China, Egypt, Nigeria which are the main suppliers of this strategic product.
