The list of the 100 products most imported by Angola in 2009 was topped by cement, which accounted for 20.94 percent of all the country’s imports, according to figures from the National Freight Council (CNC) cited by weekly newspaper Semanário Angolense.

After cement, of which 10.5Mt were imported, granite and other stones for construction were the next product on the list (2.46 per cent), ivory and other animal products for carving (2.25 per cent), malt beer (2.19 per cent) and cane and beet sugar (1.998 percent).

Nova Cimangola heads the list of that year’s 100 biggest importers, accounting for 6.64 per cent of the total.
