Protestors gathered in Castle Hayne on Monday to argue against Titan America’s proposed cement plant.

The group say they want legislators to reconsider the bill proposed by state Sen. Julia Boseman which was denied last month.

The bill could have forced Titan America to undergo an extensive environmental review and delayed the opening of the plant.

State and local officials offered Titan America about US$4.5m in incentives to open a cement plant and stone quarry on the northeast Cape Fear River.
