Japan’s Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co. and Marubeni Corp. said Thursday they have jointly received an order worth some 15 billion yen from Bim Son Cement Co. of Vietnam to build a cement production facility in the country.   The Vietnamese firm, under the wing of a state-run cement company, will reinforce its production capacity in order to cope with robust cement demand in the nation, which is showing rapid economic growth thanks to increasing inflows of foreign capital.

The new facility, with a daily output capacity of 5500t, is due to be completed in 2009.   The cement plant’s daily production capacity will expand from the current 5250t to 10,750t, one of the largest production units in Vietnam.
