Protesters campaigning against the burning of tyres at the Rugby Cement works have been dealt a blow by the solicitors of the local borough council, who have advised against pressing ahead with court action. This could mean the end of legal action against the company’s alternative fuel plans as local pressure groups do not have the cash to fund the legal battle.
Councillors are set to make an official decision on whether to go for a judicial review into Rugby Cement’s proposal at a meeting on 13 October.
