OCL India on Tuesday said it has been directed by the Odisha Mines Ministry to limit the production of limestone at its Lanjiberna mines to 1.7Mta until the receipt of forest clearance from the state government, Asia Pulse reports.
"OCL India has received a letter dated December 27, 2011, from the office of Deputy Director of Mines, Rourkela Circle, Rourkela (Odisha) in terms of which the company is required to limit its production of limestone at its Lanjiberna Limestone & Dolomite Mines to 1.7Mta," it said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
"In view of the fact that the company has already exhausted the limit of limestone production at Lajiberna Limestone and Dolomite Mines to the extent of 1.7Mta during the year, the two kilns of the company at Rajgangpur have been stopped temporarily until receipt of TWP/Forest Clearance," it added.
However, the Ministry of Environment and Forest had given its nod to the company to enhance production limit to 4.2Mta.
