Iran cement exports rise 17 per cent

Iran exported over 9.3Mt of cement in the first 11 months of the year (ends 19 March 2012), representing a 17 per cent YoY rise, IRNA news agency reported. Clinker exports during the period were 1.5Mt.

Iran’s cement production capacity currently stands at 74Mt, Iranian Minster of Industry, Mine and Trade, Mehdi Ghazanfari, recently said.

Mr Ghazanfari said that with the implementation on new projects, capacity will reach 110Mt by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2010-15).
