Cement sales in the Peruvian market totalled 2.2Mt between January and March 2012, 12.84% more than 1Q11 (1.95Mt), according to data from the Association of Cement Producers (Asocem).

Cement production for the period was 2.24Mt, a YoY increase of 11.44%, when it was 2.01Mt.?
In the first three months of the year, exports reached 39,062t of cement, reporting an increase of 144.35 per cent over the same period of 2011, when they were of 15,986t.

Asocem indicated that total cement shipments (domestic market plus exports) totalled in the first quarter 2.23MtMt, a rise of 13.91% over the same period of 2011, when they were 1.96Mt.

Total Peruvian shipments in 2011 totalled 8.29Mt, up 2.42% over shipments in 2010.
