Texas Industries’ (TXI) Hunter Cement plant, near New Braunfels, is nearing completion of the commissioning of its new kiln line, which will add another 1.4Msta of cement capacity. The culmination of this project will enable the plant to expand its workforce by adding a further 20 new employees, according to a local news release.
“We are pleased to announce the hiring of additional employees at our Hunter plant,” said Clifton Stapleton, Hunter plant manager. “This area of Texas will benefit from these additional jobs and the much-needed product this plant will soon produce.” Stapleton said the project is nearing completion “as we now begin operational commissioning.”
“As a part of the commissioning process, we will be hiring people for a number of different skilled and entry level positions. Information on these positions is available on the company website, www.txi.com,” he said.
“We are thrilled that TXI is able to add much-needed jobs to our economy,” said Michael Meek, Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce president. “TXI has been a long-standing partner supporting our community for more than 30 years, and we are enthusiastic about their continued growth as well as their contribution to the long-term potential of our region as a whole.”
San Marcos chamber president Brian Bondy added: “We've always known that TXI is committed to Central Texas and the San Marcos area, not only with their current operations and staff, but the new kiln and additional employees reinforces that commitment to the communities they serve.”
