Kolkata-based Roofers Group inaugurated its 0.2Mta cement plant in West Bengal, India on Tuesday according to local press reports.

“We have initially invested INR30 crore to set up a 200tpa plant at Lodhasuli. Commercial production from the plant will commence a day after its inauguration,” Roofers Group president Anjan Bandyopadhyay told reporters.

“We will scale up production to 600t within one and half years from now. It would require an additional investment of about INR100 crore,” Bandyopadhyay said.

He said the investment would to be sourced mostly through internal accruals.

The group is also looking to invest about INR200 crore this year in various ongoing construction activities, both for the government projects and residential projects, in the South 24 Parganas district.
