PT Semen Indonesia is to conduct tenders this year for the procurement of equipment for two new projects.
The company is to add another line at its Padang works on Sumatra and will is also set to construct a new plant in Rembang (Central Java). According to Semen Indonesia’s director of finance, Ahyanizzaman, the equipment will most likely come from Europe.
The tender for the new Padang line will be conducted in the first half of 2013, while the Rembang one is expected in the second half the year.
With the addition of the new plants, the company aims to increase production capacity to 36.5Mta in 2016 from the current 27Mta.
