TPI Polene, one of Thailand’s top three cement producers, has awarded ThyssenKrupp a EUR150m contract to build a 10,000tpd kiln line at the Saraburi works, near the capital Bangkok.
"This contract underlines our longstanding partnership with Thailand in the plant construction sector. We are delighted to be able to use our engineering expertise to support the Thai cement industry and serve the growing demand for cement with our energy-efficient facilities," Dr Hans Christoph Atzpodien, CEO of the Industrial Solutions business area of ThyssenKrupp AG, said in a statement.
ThyssenKrupp Resource Technologies is supplying major components for this contract, from raw material preparation and clinker production to cement grinding and fuel preparation. The plant control and quality monitoring and control systems will also be ThyssenKrupp products.
After hand-over of the new line,TPI’s total capacity at the Saruburi works (including three lines supplied by ThyssenKrupp in the 1990s) will be 12Mta. Production of the new line is scheduled to start in 2015.
