Cement prices in Ghana have been rising by the day with retail prices currently around GHS274 (US$136).
Ex-factory prices are cheaper than retail prices so the tariff posted at the Ghacem (HeidelbergCement) plant on 24 June indicated that a bag of cement costs GHS260 (US$129), effective 20 June 2013, when buying 1000 bags or above. For orders of 100+ bags only the price rises to GHS265 (US$132), according to a local reporter.
Ghana has imported mainly from Senegal, but these shipments are now scarce.
