Insumos Bolivia plans the import of Peruvian cement to meet the shortage of cement in Bolivia’s domestic market. It has approached Yura de Perú for the delivery of Portland cement.
The government body has denied reports of supply problems and maintains it holds a stock of 80,000 bags. The imports would be purchased “to supply the construction sector with a quality product and without sales restrictions.
The sale of cement primarily occurs in La Paz, Santa Cruz y Cochabamba, which have been supplied with imports before.
