Lafarge India's Sonadih cement plant has been awarded the Safety, Health and Environment' (SHE) Award under the large-scale industry category by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Eastern Region.
The Lafarge India team was recognised for implementing initiatives like leadership, empowerment of its plant team, engagement programmes with employees and contractors, on-site practices, internal mechanisms, strategic vision and Industrial Safety, Health and Environment objectives at the Chattisgarh-based plant. Over 28 companies had participated in the Large Scale Industry category from the Eastern Region.
Commenting on the achievement, IJjjwal Batria, MD-Cement, Lafarge India said "Health & Safety is priority number one at Lafarge and it has been our constant endeavour to provide a safe and healthy environment for our employees and other stakeholders. This recognition represents the industry's acknowledgement of the Health & Safety initiatives being undertaken by Lafarge India across all its plants. We'll continue to pursue such initiatives to make our plants, offices and communities safer."
