Peru’s domestic cement dispatches reached 3,279,640t between January and April 2014, edging up 0.1 per cent YoY, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem.

Cement output followed a similar trend, totalling 3,344,562t over the period with producers shipping 3,349,510t – including exports – in the first four months of the year, representing a 0.13 per cent increase YoY.

According to Pablo Otero, analyst at Maximixe, the rise in dispatches reflects the dynamism in both public and private construction investments, particularly in housing.
