Companies in Vietnam sold 6.07Mt of cement in May, up 9.7 per cent from a year ago, including 4.77Mt sold at the domestic market, rising by 11.9 per cent YoY, the Vietnam Building Material Department under the Ministry of Construction has said.
In the first five months, the country’s cement sales rose by 18.4 per cent YoY to 27.27Mt, fulfilling 43.98 per cent of the whole-year target, the department said.
The five-month growth was contributed by the surging demand for this product in the construction season and exports, while the country’s cement exports advanced 57.4 per cent YoY, the department noted.
The country’s cement sales are predicted to rise by 1.5-3 per cent YoY to between 62-63Mt this year, including 48.5-49Mt of domestic sales and 13.5 -14Mt of exports.
