PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk officially announced its first cement production from Line 1 at its Tuban plant on 17 June 2014, adding 1.7Mta to the company’s total production capacity.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Board of Directors and a number of key customers and distributors.

In his opening address, Holcim Indonesia CEO, Eamon Ginley said: “The demand for Holcim products increased and has continued in 2014. This new capacity positions Holcim Indonesia in a very favourable position to capture future growth."

Tight supply conditions have led Indonesia's third-largest cement producer to operate at maximum capacity during  2013 and 2014. The completion of Tuban Line I will boost Holcim Indonesia's capacity by 20 per cent. Tuban Line II, currently under implementation, will lift capacity by a further 20 per cent once it is completed in early 2015.

“Tuban Plant enables Holcim to serve our customers even more dedicated and helps us to achieve our aspiration of maintaining our position within the top three in the Indonesia’s cement industry," Mr Ginley stated.
