Holcim Bangladesh has completed expansion of its Meghnaghat grinding plant, achieving an additional capacity of 0.7Mta.
The investment included installation of a 110tph closed circuit ball mill, a 0.7Mta electronic packer, a bulk loading system, 30,000t clinker storage unit and pneumatic fly ash unloader
Aidan Lynam, corporate Functional Manager in charge of the technical support for South Asia, who also oversees Holcim’s activities in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, travelled to Dhaka City to celebrate the expansion project, as well the opening of a new corporate office in Dhaka city and the implementation of an SAP system.
During the occasion, Mr Lynam said: “The local projects team, in collaboration with Holcim Bangladesh’s operations management teamed up with the expertise of Holcim Group Support, in Switzerland and in Spain to produce an outstanding project outcome in terms of safety, schedule and budget. It is of particular satisfaction that the project has been completed satisfactorily to the highest level of international Occupational Health and Safety.”
Commenting on the opening of the new corporate office, Rajnish Kapur, managing director of Holcim (Banglades) said: “We trust that our new corporate office located at Tejgaon Gulshan Link Road, will be the effective center for enhanced business activities for our valued clients, customers, channel partners, patrons, and stakeholders."
