ZETH breaks ground on Kyrgyzstan plant

The ground ceremony for a new cement plant in northern Kyrgyzstan was held on Friday by ZETH Cement, a local subsidary backed by Chinese investors.

The project will be located in Kemin, Chui province, about 13km east of the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, according Sun He, business counselor with the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

Speaking at the launch ceremony for the construction of the project, Kyrgyz First Vice Prime Minister Tayirbek Sarpashev said he was confident that the plant would not add more jobs to the Kemin region.

Zhu Rongjun, general manager of ZETH-Cement, the Chinese investment subsidiary registered in Kyrgyzstan and investor of the new cement plant, said the project would be completed and put into production in 15 mo
