Cemex recently won the top recognition by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) for human resource excellence at its APO Cement Plant in the Philippines.
PMAP’s Employer of the Year Award annually recognises outstanding achievers whose leadership, dynamism, and professionalism measure up to the high standards of PMAP, Cemex said in statement.
“As we continue to grow as a building solutions provider, we also grow with our people. Our employees are the organisation’s enablers, leaders, and future makers. This award is dedicated to the men and women of our APO Cement plant who uphold the company’s culture of excellence,” said Pedro Palomino, President of Cemex in the Philippines.
Founded 56 years ago with more than 1800 member companies and executives engaged or interested in human resource management, PMAP is the premier organisation of human resource professionals and managers in the Philippines. After almost five months of deliberation, screening, site visits, and judging administered by PMAP committees and a board of judges, Cemex was named the 2014 Employer of the Year for its transformation story, clarity of direction, strong corporate responsibility efforts, and impact on its community.
During the 38th PMAP Awards Night, Cemex was lauded for its exemplary performance as an organisation with a dynamic people management approach known as Cemex Cares. Cemex Cares is an umbrella program that embodies a comprehensive offering on HR programs and services aimed to increase employee engagement and achieve an ever more vibrant and progressive corporate culture, Cemex added.
“We keep innovating our HR programs, always trying to enhance the employee experience. More than just being an employer, we strive to create a family employee experience,” said Maria Virginia, Vice President of Human Resources of Cemex in the Philippines.
