To help alleviate Venezuela’s cement shortage a new cement plant, ‘Valeroso Peña’, will be built in Peña, Yaracuy. The 600tpd works will be constructed with assistance from India in an area that is rich in high-quality limestone.
"The complex is part of a proposed three mini plants by the governors of Portuguesa, Cojedes and Yaracuy, which was approved by President Nicolas Maduro to develop through the agreement India - Venezuela. For each US$15m was allocated, "noted Julio León, governor of Yaracuy.
Following commissioning the plants will produce 4.5m bags of cement annually, which will allow the construction of some 20,000 homes in each state, according to AVN, the Venezuelan news agency.
