FLSmidth has won a turnkey contract for Cemex’s Odessa cement plant in western Texas, USA. The completed project will raise the works' cement capacity to 2540tpd.
The equipment scope includes a five-stage ILC preheater with a low-NOx calciner, three-pier kiln, Cross-Bar cooler, Duoflex burner, FLSmidth Pfister weighing and dosing systems, gas analysers and three Fuller-Kinyon pumps.
"FLSmidth has a very strong local presence in the US, and the new production line will help Cemex keep pace with the rapidly growing cement demand from the oil and gas industry in the West Texas market," said Mejnert Kristensen, president of FLSmidth’s cement division.
The order will be booked by the company and contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until late 2016.
